Seeing as how this secret word isn't much of a secret (my source, I might add, is a book by Robert Anton Wilson entitled Everything's Under Control), one has to wonder why the people who, according to some, secretly control the world wouldn't change the word every couple of weeks or so.

I overheard this comment a few nights ago while I was revisiting one of the places I used to frequent during my psuedo-intellectual days.  As tempting as it is to condemn this statement, I must admit that I occasionally feel the exact same way.  The great thing about democracy as that, when it works correctly, it puts the power in the hands of the people.  The bad thing about democracy is that most people are idiots.
