Waiting for Holly, Version 2.0
A Play By Jeff Ellis
A coffeehouse in Blazing Plain, Texas. Sitting across from each other at a small table are GABRIEL LEO and CHARLIE WAX. Both in their early twenties, they are two men who have obviously never had to face anything resembling reality. Both smoke. Charlie reads the latest issue of THE PAPER, an underground newspaper that covers the otherwise neglected Texas art scene. Gabriel drinks a cup of coffee. Both smoke.
Gabriel sees something over Charlie's shoulder.
GABRIEL: Hey, is that Holly?
Charlie glances over his shoulder.
CHARLIE: Nah, man, that's not her.
Gabriel shrugs. Charlie looks back down at his newspaper.
END
Hi.
Well, there's no more waiting.
